Stellarite in T&L functions similarly to Soulshots/Spiritshots in L2. Aesthetics, gear drops, and open dungeons in T&L draw inspiration from Lineage 2. Throne and Liberty has a lot of similarities with Lineage 2. For those fans of the MMORPG genre eager to know which things are the most similar between the two games , the following examples represent the most notorious lookalikes players can find in both titles. Related Players have several options to pursue after reaching level 50 in Throne and Liberty. From guild territory management with castles included, to certain open-world areas that remind L2 veterans how hard it was to farm Ancient Adena. These features are so similar that it would make players wonder if T&L is not a Lineage 2 remake. Except no Dark Elves or Kamael are roaming around. 1 Similar Guild And Territory Control System Heavy Is The Head That Wears The Crown Close The same type of Territory Control and benefits Different PvP Mechanics to Earn Territory In Lineage 2, Guild Contribution was a good way to keep everyone working toward the same goal: Territory Control and collection of juicy taxes to improve the livelihood of all members of the same guild. Although Throne and Liberty manages territory in parcels/nodes then a more complex distribution of taxes and how Guilds exert control over the cities, the essence is the same. Related Hero of the Catapult is a fun quest in Throne and Liberty's Raging Wilds region. You'll need another player to help complete it, though. PvP-focused guilds are all about territory control and skirmishes for nodes, though there are also PvE/PvP activities such as competitive World Boss Raids. The main difference with this is that these are programmed, unlike Lineage 2 where certain spontaneous skirmishes occurred during certain boss Raids (Like Antharas) especially when two rival guilds decided to conduct raids at the same time and the Red Names started to pop up like crazy. 2 Stellarite Is The Same As Soulshots/Spiritshots Annoying, But Effective Way To Boost Damage Close The same effect Only one type is needed but with different qualities In Lineage 2 Soulshots were used by melee fighters (Warlords, Assassins, Temple Knights, etc.) while Spiritshots were used for caster classes (Like Spellsinger, Warlock, Mystic Muse, etc.) to empower their attacks and spells. Throne and Liberty has a similar consumable called Stellarite, which consists of basically the same, but it can be applied universally. That is, no matter the class players use, they only need to have one type of consumable. Like in L2, Stellarite also comes in Tiers, Tier 0 (Grey - Stellarite) the lowest, and Tier 1 (Green - High Quality Stellarite) is the highest. 3 Similar Leveling And Skill Systems Though Lineage 2 Had A Class System Close The skill usage feels similar Different ways to level up skills While Lineage 2's leveling system also involved Class Building and Profession Change quests, Throne and Liberty is much simpler in that sense. Still, T&L brings certain things to the table that feel similar (if not the same) to the earlier Lineage 2 Sagas (or Chronicles), with particular emphasis on farming and grinding equipment boost items to climb up the gearscore and access new and challenging activities. Related The Cave of Desperation dungeon delivers some tough ant-based encounters for intrepid adventurers in Throne and Liberty. Though levels are basically limited to a certain number, there are other ways of class progression in Throne and Liberty, which is its skill system. Similarly to L2 (that needed Adena and some class advancement prerequisites), skills can be upgraded by spending Skill Growth Books, and in the case of Weapon Mastery, by using said weapons and spending Training Dew. 4 The Gear Is Similar As Well As The Way The Drops Are Managed That Loot Is Not Going To Pick Itself. Oh Wait, It Does! Close Different stats and gear effects In Throne and Liberty, gear is divided into Tiers, similar to Lineage 2, with special sets included that players can find by completing a lot of activities such as Dungeon Delving, Quests, completing the Lithography Book , and of course, end-game Activities and World Boss Drops. This happened in a very similar way in L2, where World Bosses were the main source of end-game loot and specialized set parts. In Throne and Liberty, Morokai or Talus Raids provide the perfect opportunities for players to get that prized loot. But, if they participate in a Guild, there's a chance that loot ends up in the hands of said guild due to the distribution system, so they need to pay attention to this before participating in a raid with their Guilds. 5 Aesthetics Are Deeply Inspired By Lineage 2 Scenarios, Cutscenes, And Designs Are All Similar To The Classic MMORPG Close Clothing, armor, and character designs follow the same style Throne and Liberty has better texture quality and overall effects From the construction of the world, the effects, and the aesthetics, everything looks similar to Lineage 2, in an honest way, of course. Throne and Liberty has an identity of its own, though it takes some good mechanics from titles like L2, WoW, Archlord, and even Warframe, it is all polished and constructed into a powerful experience that can satisfy even the most demanding of MMORPG fans. Related Specter's Abyss is the first dungeon players will encounter in Throne and Liberty. Here's how to beat every boss and reach the end safely. The cutscenes have a similar style to those from L2, and character designs, especially the clothing and hairstyles, have some similarities too. But that's also a good thing since players attracted by the L2 art style will feel comfortable with the world of Solisium. 6 The Way Open Dungeons Work The Old Days Farming Ancient Adena Close In both games, the loot is distributed in the same ways The difference lies in Dynamic events and dungeon progression through levels In Lineage 2, there are a lot of places considered Open Dungeons , where players farm lots of important items, and a special currency called Ancient Adena. In Throne and Liberty, there are similar places called Open World Dungeons, where every player can gain access, as long as they're on the same server, of course. There are special occasions when an Open World Dungeon, such as Syleus's Abyss or Sylaveth Temple, becomes the target of a World Event. In these cases, new enemies and special bosses appear, even powerful field bosses that players can work together and take down. That is, as long as the type of event is marked as "Peace" and not "Conflict," in which case, enabled PvP and guilds will fight between them for the privilege of controlling the area and taking down the special enemies.
