In this role, he will lead the strategy and execution of Sonar’s business with federal government agencies, focusing on expanding the federal team in Washington D.C. Sonar serves agencies including NASA, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Justice with tools for AI-assisted and quality-assured code, DevOps transformation and technical debt management. Its products, such as SonarQube Server and SonarQube Cloud, help developers prevent code quality and security issues from reaching production. Jones brings over two decades of experience in the federal market to his new role at Sonar. His previous tenure at Red Hat as VP of federal allowed him to gain a deep understanding of software development. In this role, he oversaw all of Red Hat’s federal business and systems integrator channels. Jones’s appointment comes at a time when government agencies are placing a higher emphasis on code quality and security, according to Sonar.
